You will become witnesses even in the place where you are delivered up In verse 9, Jesus said that the reason the disciples would stand before rulers and kings was Himself. Therefore, what they are to testify of in that place is also Jesus. If our hearts are completely taken up with pleading our grievances to people, we cannot look to the Savior who has given us life. We who have received the remission of sins have no need to change the basis of the salvation we received from the Lord just because the world condemns us. No matter whom we stand before, we can rely on what Jesus has done for us.
