The Scripture opens this scene with the words, “Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them” (Mark 10:13). Those who brought the children were hoping for the grace of the Lord, but the disciples blocked their way. When Jesus saw this, He was greatly displeased. It is a scene that shows us that even those who claim to follow the Lord closely can, by their own judgment, block a person who is coming to the Lord.
