The sight of Jesus holding the children in His arms shows what the one who receives grace is leaning on. Not the children’s ability, but the hand of the Lord who receives them is the center. Our salvation, too, leans on the righteousness that the Savior accomplished. Therefore, even on days when our own strength has diminished, we need not think that we have lost the grace we received from the Lord. We must get out of the life of coming to the Lord only when we can do well and hiding when we fall short, and at any time renew our hearts with the gospel the Lord has given.
