When the eleven disciples were eating, Jesus appeared to them. And He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart. This was because the disciples had not believed the words of those who had seen that the Lord had risen. What the disciples, who were to become witnesses of the resurrection, had to receive first was faith that believes in the risen Lord. One cannot preach the gospel of new life while thinking that the Lord is in the tomb.
