Since the hearer does not come to know everything at once just because we have explained it, we can listen to where his understanding got stuck and explain again how Jesus bore sin. It is laying down the impatience that we ourselves must produce the result, and relying on the Lord to work through His word. Such patience is not a waiting that does nothing, but faith that continues to do what is needed while believing the Lord’s promise.
