Jesus spoke of the signs that follow those who believe. Namely, they will cast out demons, speak with new tongues, take up serpents, not be harmed even if they drink poison, and when they lay hands on the sick, the sick will recover. If one reads this word only according to the letter, it sounds as though a born-again person must take up serpents and drink poison every day to prove his own faith. However, this word is a spiritual word given to born-again people, and it is power that was given because it was needed for preaching the gospel. The flow of Mark chapter 16 shows this.
