When the Sabbath was past, the women prepared spices to anoint Jesus with. As they went to the tomb on the morning of the first day, they worried about who would roll away the large stone. However, when they arrived, the stone had already been rolled away. The young man clothed in white whom they met inside the tomb said, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here” (Mark 16:6). The news of the resurrection was heard by the people who had come looking for the body of the Lord who had died.
