Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put in money. Many rich people put in much money, and one poor widow put in two mites. It was a small sum, amounting to a quadrans. Yet Jesus called His disciples and said, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury” (Mark 12:43).
